The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate In Kwara State, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi has felicitated with the Christian community in Kwara and all over the world on the birth anniversary of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The traditional and religious festival among Christians has already begun across the world; Today, December 25 commemorates another birth anniversary of Jesus Christ.
On this day, Christians across the world are urged to be guided by the lessons of the Christmas season, which is docked on love, forgiveness, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence for the sake of growth and development.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi, made the call in a Christmas message released by his Press Secretary on Media and Publicity, Mustapha Abdullahi.
The statement reads: “ I wish the entire Kwarans and Nigerians across the globe, specifically the Christian community God’s guidance and abundant blessings as they celebrate the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ.
“Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness. A time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.
“Christmas is not all about merry-making. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity.
Yaman noted that at a time like this when our country is facing multifaceted problems and challenges of bad leadership, failed state phenomenon corruption, and bad governance among other interrelated variables that had impeded her growth, we need to be steadfast in prayers and fasting on our differences to enhance national integration and prosperity.
“As 2023 draws closer, I use this special occasion to beseech the Almighty God to make Nigeria overcome her current challenges and grant us peaceful, successful, fair, and credible elections in the coming months.
“As we celebrate, we should continue to embrace peace, as it is the noblest of all human endeavours. It is by appreciating the need for peaceful and harmonious coexistence that we can then tackle the problems and overcome the trials and challenges in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole”, he said.
