Media Assistant to Hon. Commissioner for Finance and Planning sent to Satcom Media has implored nursing mothers to prioritise exclusive breastfeeding for their children in a bid to ensure maximum strength, proper growth and nutritional safety.
Mrs Oyeyemi made the disclosure today while declaring open Kwara State Multisectoral Strategic Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition (KWMPFN) held in Ilorin, the state Capital.
She maintained that children in their earlier stages need nutritious food for rapid growth and development, while cautioning them against feeding them with condensed milks and other artificial foods.
According to her “Regular breastfeeding of babies between 0-6 months and eating of nutritious food by breastfeeding mothers will give them strength to always breastfeed their babies”
She advised especially breastfeeding mothers to maintain high level of personal hygiene and visit the hospital regularly for proper checkups and treatments that would help enhance the medical care of their babies. She assured them of Kwara State government support under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Dignitaries at the event include Kwara state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Fatimah Bisola Ahmed; Commissioner for Communication, Alh Muritala Olanrewaju; Permanent Secretary Ministry of Planning, Alh AbdulKadir Shuaib Akanbi among others distinguished personalities.
