Come rain, come shine, a cub has no option, but to tap from the biological traits of its lion-parent, number one in the stratosphere of contemporary Gambari society is the Gobir family. It is not an exaggerated reality that the late Alhaji Yusuf Amuda Gobir was Kwara’s first Permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transportation in 1962.
Even before then, the exalted family has long been enjoying aristocratic status in the city of Ilorin.
Aside, Alhaji Yusuf Amuda Gobir, Alhaji Mohammed Gobir, the first Waziri of Ilorin; Abubakar Garba Gobir, a former private Secretary of the late Premier of Northern Region and Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Ahmed Yusuf Gobir, present Sarkin Gobir and Waziri Yakubu Gobir are few of the notable descendantsof the Gobir extraction in Gambari.
The contributions of the Gobir forebearers in the building of Ilorin and Kwara by extension cannot be numerically measured.
In view of above, Hajiya Sa’adatu couldn’t afford to be a sheer deviation from the already institutionalised Gobir aristocratic and intellectual culture.
The commissioner for Tertiary Education has, undoubtedly etched her name on the rocky surface of the society, she has not only been giving back to the society, but also helping to reshape it. In my words, SMK, as we in her inner circle fondly call is a woman of extremely high erudition and standard. She is a repository of all sought after virtues.
Her profound reverence for societal norms and values can be overtly discerned through the courteous manner she treats every Dick, Tom and Harry – she is accessible to a fault.
Whatever good you think of, she won’t disappoint you – she is einstenic, elegant, social, blunt, simple, a prayer warrior and above all, she is a ravishing creature.
I can attest to her abject generosity, she is a serial giver who does not reproach. Only heaven can reward her philanthropic gestures as she plays mother to all and sundry – including people she does not know from Adam.
The Ministry of Tertiary Education has undergone a tremendous evolution since the Gobir born gem took charge of the entity. SMK, with her intellectual resources has floated yielding policies that will further position all the Kwara State owned Tertiary Institutions on the nation’s map. Latest among her achievements, is the screening of staff and infrastructural tour of all state owned institutions.
Dear ma, before I get driven away by your rare charisma, it is pertinent I wish you a happy birthday. May today
spell the beginning of another yielding and golden phase of your life. May you continue to soar to the summit greatness.
You are a blessing to the entire kwara.
