EJI ÒWÚRÒ (ÀBÌKÉ)

I have seen the beautiful women of Aláké,
I have seen the big ones likewise ọ̀pẹ́lẹ́ngẹ́.
I have seen the melanin, I have seen bòròró
but none in the view of your eccentric style!

.
MÒTUNRÁYÓ,
suppose arówójọbẹ̀ offer you a tasty soup
and àgbọnrín leaps in its daring magnitude;
even if there is heavy downpour in Shómólú,
acknowledge my words like you always do.

.
ÀBÌKÉ,
even if the leopard discharge its vehemence
and abìjà wàrà solicits his unfailing charms,
even if the hunter hunts with his bare hands,
I will pen your resplendence in poetic terms.

.
*MÒTUNRÁYÓ,
your figure is intact like the face of earth
on which Olúmo is impeccably balanced.
When oblations were showered on Lísàbí,
it was for the sake of your love, ọmọlúàbí.

.
ÀBÌKÉ,
in the cooling perception of eji òwúrò
your laughter can freeze a man to death
even if he is cloaked in olúkòso’s breath
or runs an enclave in the depth of hell.

Happy birthday to you darling in whom I so much confide. Thanks for being more than just a friend . Thanks for being all that you are. I wish you a long life in good health and prosperity.
