Today, 25th of May, 2020, the ERUBU-ASUNNARA, ITA-ABURO AND CENTER IGBORO communities hinged and organized a special prayer for the successful tenure of one of their illustrious sons, Prof. (Amb) Ibrahim Agboola Gambari CFR, who was recently appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR.
The prayer commenced, with the opening prayer by the Imam Asunnara, Alh. Oba AbdulQodir Mustapha. And it was fervently attended and led by Sheik Uthman Ibn Sulyman Erubu, others are the Alh. Muh’d Thanni, Imam Erubu, also, Alh. Yusuf Babatunde, the Imam of Ita-Aburo among others.
Gambari, a prince from Alimi dynasty of the Ilorin Emirate has served in different capacities such as the Founder/Chairman Board of Directors of Savannah Center for Diplomacy and Development (SCDDD), a non- governmental think-thank on research and policy studies on conflict prevention and resolution as well as Democratization and Development in Africa.
A one time HOD, Political Science and Int’l Studies, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Also, a former Minister of External Affairs during the Buhari/Idiagbon Military regime, a Nigeria Representative at the United Nation Organization, who have served in different capacities.
Prof. Gambari, is also a pioneer Chancellor, Kwara State University Malete and also appointed as the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), to mentioned but a few.
During the prayer session, a brief words of admonition was delivered by Dr. Mustapha Oladimeji AbdulRahman. In his remarks, he described Prof. Gambari as someone that has made some positive impacts in the community, also charges all the youths in the community, to intensity their efforts in working aimlessly, and believed in their respective future. He prayed to Allah to guides professor Gambari aright for the progress and development of our community, and Ilorin Emirate at large.
Similarly, the lecture was delivered by Dr. Ridwan Olagunju, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin. In his Message, he charges all the youth to emulate the good deeds of those in the past, who have worked tirelessly for the progress and development of community, and kwara State.
However, the prayer was chaired and honored by Mall. Ismail Asuku.
In the same vein, the prayer was well attended by Traditional leaders in the communities, Religious leaders, Elders, and all the entire youth of the community, in praying for the successful tenure, with greater development and progress of the communities, and Ilorin Emirate.
