The Senate has begun the screening of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun for confirmation as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, presided over the proceedings holding in the Committee of the Whole on Wednesday at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Kekere-Ekun is the country’s 23rd occupant of the head of the judicial arm of government and the second female appointed to the seat.
President Bola Tinubu had on Tuesday forwarded her name to the Senate for screening and confirmation. Justice Kekere-Ekun arrived in the Senate chambers in company with several other judicial officers.
