… Management appreciates Proprietor for PhD, MSc, Degree Scholarship for Tutors
Today, the Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies (BCAIS) founded and fully funded by the philanthropist of higher repute, the Tafida of Ilorin, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, CON, held her graduation ceremony (Shaadah) for the 2021/2022 academic session (25th graduation). The graduation was the center’s 25th Shahadah ceremony.
The graduation explicitly had graduates whom cut across four categories; Quranic (Quraniyah) with 45 graduates, Primary (Ibtidahiyah) with 65 graduates, Junior Secondary (Hidadiyah) with 35 graduates and Senior Secondary (Thanawiyah) with 31 graduates.
However, during the event, the management board, staff and students of Baraje Centre For Arabic and Islamic Studies expressed their gratefulness to the Founder and Mudir, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, CON, who channeled his personal resources to the establishment and funding of a tuition – free institution which gives quality and adequate islamic education to the students across ages and genders and has been registered and recognized by National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), the board administering Senior Certificate Examination (NBAISSCE) which is equivalent to WAEC and NECO, as an examination centre since 2017.
During the ceremony, the Chairman, Management Board of the centre, Hon. Justice S. O. Muhammad (Rtd.), who was represented by Alhaji Nurudeen Magaji, specially noted that the birth of the Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation, which was launched in April 18th, 2021, with Barr. Abdulqadir Adebayo Adelodun, SAN, as its Chairman, was another goodwill initiative purposely established to outlive the present sustainability and funding from the personal resources of Alhaji Kawu Baraje. He proceeded by disclosing to the parents that since July, 2022, the overhead emoluments and other financial responsibilities of the centre have been taken over by the foundation.
During the graduation, which was attended by the Chief Imam and Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr) Mohammad Bashir Solihu, OON, and Sheikh Abdulhameed Abdullahi respectively, and other erudite islamic scholars from the Emirate city of Ilorin and beyond, the management board appreciated, in no small measure, the founder’s benevolence to the staff in terms of PhD, MSc and Degree scholarships and other certifications with hundreds of them as beneficiaries while their salaries still run.
