Alanamu youth for good governance holds community development sitting, implores members to obtain PVC

Alanamu youth for good governance, a youth and community development group in Kwara State has held a Community development symposium aimed towards bringing together youth entities of the community into a single platform so as to further develop their individual community.

The symposium which was held yesterday Monday 13th, 2022 saw in attendance youths form the Alanamu area of Ilorin west LGA of Kwara State.

The youths in their large number during the symposium dissected issues ranging from community development strategies, issues on the educational system Kwara State and agitation against political apathy.

The meet up which kicked off with an opening prayer followed by the national anthem witnessed series of depositions bothering on the need for urgent improvement of Kwara State educational system as well as peoples participation in societal politics.

During an observation session by a member of the group who goes by the name Ibrahim abdullahi, he laid emphasis on how community development issues is a primary assignment of the federal government in which their failure has since spread to affect the state and local governments in general.

“This issue we are all discussing here is from the federal government down to the local and state level. Our leaders were taught by teachers as well but yet they have failed to recognize the huge impact teachers contribute to our communities by not comoesyjng them enough for their works. People are Just going to school not for education but attendance. We hope the government will take necessary steps as soon as possible to further improve the educational condition of the country”, he said.

The coordinator of the group also laid emphasis on the need for the members of the group to involve in politics thereby citing a quite that “he who fails to be involved in politics and governance shall be governed by a fool”. He then called on all conceded bodies and stakeholders to take necessary steps as soon as possible.

The coordinator also reiterated on the need for the group members to obtain their pvc which he regarded as their civil right as well as power to choose any leader of their choice.

Another member of the group by the name AbdulKadri Raheemat who is currently awaiting admission into a tertiary institution recited a poem which pointed out the importance of education . Lying between the lines of the poem, she cited example of the agitation made bu Chief Obafemj Awolowo who created a solid ground for Western education in Nigeria. “Only the rich nkw has access to proper education while the children of the poor are being denied. Most of their children are studying abroad and the CSS did the knhijng ASUU strike is a clear example”.
