Young people in Kwara state , who are veteran and hands-on student activists, have commended former Senate President , Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for ensuring that younger Kwarans were given ‘due recognition’ with regard to Kwara state PDP nominations ahead of the 2023 General Election.
The Kwara state PDP Comrades Forum, KPCF, in a statement issued in Ilorin which was signed by its Secretary General, Comrade Ibrahim Abdulrazak Jeje and made available to Team@orientmags.com on Friday ,also gave Saraki the thumbs up in respect of the adoption of ‘consensus arrangements’ for selection of PDP candidates for elective offices, which the group described as peaceful and fruitful.
‘Kwara State PDP Comrades Forum is the umbrella body of all the past and present student activists in the state who sincerely believe in the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and have duly registered as members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). We are committed to mobilizing young activists to join the PDP and protect the good image of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON.
It’s very encouraging that the adoption of ‘consensus arrangements’ for selection of Kwara state PDP candidates for elective offices under the supervision of our Leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki is 80% done and it has produced competent candidates that would be competing with candidates of other parties in the 2023 general election.
The process has been peaceful, transparent and productive without featuring autocratic actions or imposition of candidates.
Young people getting party nominations have also justified commitment to the not too young to run law and this is commendable, it shows that Kwara state PDP is committed to getting young people involved in governance and the process of securing the future of Kwara state people.
Interestingly, the consensus process has been very friendly to the young people which shows how much Kwara State PDP is committed to youth inclusion in governance, and we are very glad to see that about 50% of young people have been captured in the process. While we are still expecting more, We say thank you to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Kwara state PDP Family.
In the same vein, we equally appreciate the kind gesture of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki towards the PDP Comrades Forum and students structures (NANS & NAKSS) in the state. Including us among the beneficiaries of Ramadan package has also shown the level of commitment of the former Senate President to our welfare.
While we still anticipate the consideration and emergence of more young people as aspirants we restate our total commitment to ensuring victory for our party in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
