Bayern Munich has clinched their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title with their 1-0 win over SV Werder Bremen. A goal from Robert Lewandowski just before the halftime break was enough to seal the deal for Bayern as the first step in their quest for another historic treble has been completed. This title-clinching win takes Bayern’s unbeaten streak on the season to 19 across all competitions. Their last loss came back in December against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Bayern made hard work of it, especially after Alphonso Davies was sent off in the 79th minute for receiving his second yellow card. Bremen piled on the pressure in the closing 11 minutes and a crucial 90th minute save from Manuel Neuer helped Bayern secure the win. Florian Kohfeldt’s side now face two important matches to try to climb out of the relegation zone.
