HAM Foundation Launches Water Outreach Initiative in Baruten LG, Targets 22 Boreholes

In a bid to improve access to clean water in rural communities, the HAM Foundation has commenced its water outreach initiative in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State. The foundation aims to sink 22 boreholes across all wards in the local government, bringing the total number of boreholes drilled by the foundation in Kwara North to 176.

The initiative, which kicked off on Saturday, February 8, is part of the foundation’s efforts to support the state government’s drive to provide clean water to rural communities. According to the foundation, the water charity is not tied to any religious, tribal, or political affiliations, but rather a platform to give back to society.

The foundation ensures that community stakeholders are involved in the decision-making process, consulting with them to determine the location of the boreholes. This approach demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to supporting the state government’s efforts to address the water needs of rural communities.

The HAM Foundation’s intervention is designed to reduce the prevalence of water-borne diseases, improve positive health outcomes, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. The foundation’s team is expected to complete the drilling of the boreholes shortly before the fall season begins.

This initiative is not the foundation’s first foray into providing clean water to rural communities. Prior to the Baruten phase, the foundation had sunk 65 boreholes in Patigi LG, 55 in Edu LG, 19 in Moro LG, and 15 in Kaiama LG, totaling 154 boreholes.

The HAM Foundation’s efforts have been hailed as a significant contribution to the state government’s drive to provide clean water to rural communities. As the foundation continues to work towards its goal of providing clean water to all wards in Kwara North, residents can look forward to improved access to this essential resource.
