GDSS Karuma Alumni Holds Reunion/Get-together Party in Ilorin


The Government Day Secondary School Karuma Old Students’ Association (KOSA) came together for a vibrant reunion and get-together on December 30, 2023, at the school hall, with a resounding call for alumni to make a positive impact on the society that molded them.

During the event, Prof. Sanni Mubarak, Director of the Centre for Professional Studies, Kwasu, and one of the first set of the school, emphasized the importance of revisiting the past, shaping the future, and securing a brighter tomorrow for GDSS Karuma. He urged both the government and individuals to actively contribute to the school’s needs.

Engr. Shuaib Bolanle Jimoh, the acting national president, encouraged old students to be prudent and optimistic in the ongoing efforts to rescue the school’s deteriorating facilities. He also urged them to take a proactive role in the upcoming 40th-anniversary celebrations, highlighting the importance of alumni involvement.

Mall. Abdulkadir Musa, a member of the planning committee, presented a proposal for the school’s 40th anniversary and fundraising activities. The planned events include a special assembly session, career talks, an endurance trek, novelty match, awards, and fundraising initiatives.

Expressing gratitude, the Senior and Junior secondary school principals, Alhaja Abdul Rahman K.K, and Alhaja Lawal Halimat, lauded the organizers for their impactful initiative. They extended appreciation to the state government for fostering an inclusive environment and prayed for the success of the laid-down agendas, especially the 40th anniversary.

Mall. Abubakar Sheu, the Chairman of the planning committee, concluded the event by expressing appreciation to all members for their support towards the successful reunion and prayed for blessings from Almighty Allah.
