It can be recalled earlier following a broadcast message being released by the Chief press secretary to the Kwara state Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye bearing the date of September 29, 2020. This was in regards to the provision of #135,500,000 interest free loans to about 1,119 private school owners across the state under the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP).
Anonymous members of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Kwara state chapter has expressed their disappointments and plights over the yet to be fulfilled promise from the Kwara State Government. Speaking with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, the private school owners expressed their plights and high hopes due to the stress they experienced and passed through during the said registration of their schools for the loan scheme.
They also emphasized on the debts that have been incurred on them due to other loans that were obtained from outside parties to cater for their staffs welfarism during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown as well as restoration of certain facilities in their school vicinity.
One of our interviewee and also a member of NAPPS Kwara state chapter made emphasis on the fact that most of their workers ranging from private school teachers, cleaners, security men depended on menial jobs for a living and the Government proposed loan will go a long way in serving and catering for their incurred debts.
They thereby tendered pleads and prayers to the Kwara state Government for swift and timely intervention toward the provision fulfillment of their various promises.
