Kwara State Govt. Will continue to support locally made product – Commissioner for finance

Kwara Govt will continue to support locally made products

Kwara State Government has promised to continue to support locally made products. The statement was made through the State Commissioner for Finance and Planning, Mrs Oyeyemi Olasumbo Florence  earlier today. She encouraged Kwarans on vocational training and development.

Mrs Oyeyemi while meeting with Musa Abdulgafar Oladapo, a local entrepreneur in shoemaking in her office commended the young and enterprising Oladapo for taking the decision to be self reliant when he could have chosen to depend on government for sustenance. She encouraged him on the need to prioritise entrepreneurship development noting that, government being the highest employer of labour cannot provide job for her burgeoning population.

The commissioner met the shoemaker at the entrance of the ministry where she expressed happiness and great admiration while checking through some of his works. At the glance of the instance, the commissioner called on the cobbler and had some personal interaction with him on how best the government could support his trade in line with Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s pledge to patronize locally made products and promote local content development.

While responding, the cobbler briefly told the commissioner his area of specialisation and needs. He appreciated the commissioner for her down to earth attitude who in turn promised to forward his request to the appropriate quarters for consideration.
