IEYDA Holds Pre-Durbar Endurance Walk in Ilorin

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) organized a pre-Durbar endurance walk on Sunday as part of the build-up to the forthcoming grand Durbar festival in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The event, which brought together hundreds of participants, commenced at the Ilorin Emirs Palace and covered a distance of approximately 10 kilometers across various routes in Ilorin. The walk aimed to promote physical fitness, cultural awareness, and community engagement among the youth of the Ilorin Emirate.

The participants, adorned in colorful wears, showcased their enthusiasm and excitement as they embarked on the endurance walk. They were accompanied by drummers and local musicians who provided lively tunes, adding to the festive atmosphere. Local residents, as well as tourists, lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the procession.

The IEYDA President, Alhaji Babatunde Salaudeen, emphasized the significance of the event in preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate. He stated, “The pre-Durbar endurance walk serves as a symbolic representation of our unity, strength, and commitment to upholding our traditions. It also allows us to connect with the broader community and showcase the beauty of our culture to the world.”
