62nd Birthday: Olododo Awards University Scholarship to Orphan, Donate Items to Reception Centre

Member Representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook Olododo on Monday marked his 62nd birthday at the orphanage in his constituency, where he donated different items worth hundreds of thousands and also awarded university scholarship to one of the orphans, Hadizat who was offered admission to study food science at the University of Ilorin.

In his remark while presenting the gift items, Olododo thanked Almighty Allah, the D. G and other member of his campaign team, supporters and the people of Ilorin East and South tor their unflinching support.

The lawmaker who is seeking re-election under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) also applaud management of the orphanage, describing his birthday as a remarkable day to thank Almighty Allah through reaching out to the needy.

Olododo furthered that he believes “with God and necessary support of mankind, the orphans can become anything in life. It is therefore important for us to encourage them to be close to God and be more serious about their future because it is only God that takes care of human being.”

Olododo who noted it was not his first time visiting the orphanage, said he was been identifying with them since his days the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff to the former Kwara State Governor promised to continue supporting them as long as he is alive.

The items donated by Olododo was based on an earlier request. He however assured the orphanage of capital project against next year.

Oladodo also announced sponsorship of the scholarship of one of the orphan identified as Hadizat, who passed the entrance examinations and offered admission to study food science at the University of Ilorin.

The officer in charge of the centre, Alhaja Kuburat Bola in her appreciation remark on behalf of the Commissioner for Social Development and the permanent secretary thanked Hon. Abdulganiyu Saka Cook Olododo for the kind gesture and that the materials will go a long way in taking good care of the motherless babies. She speaks further that the centre houses different categories of children like; the children of the lunatic, abandoned children and the likes.

Hadizat, the beneficiary of the University scholarship award from Hon. Cook Olododo while speaking on behalf of other orphans at the centre, thanked the lawmaker and pray Allah continue to guide and elevate him.
